Kids Email Review and Giveaway

kids email

My daughter just started kindergarten, she’s learning to write and she’s just starting to use the computer.  She DESPERATELY wanted her own email address to write to her cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents.  I had been extremely apprehensive about getting her a standard email account since I wouldn’t be able to screen or stop what comes through.

When I was offered a 30 FREE trial of Kids Email, I knew this was a perfect way to give my daughter the privilege of having an email address, while maintaining the ability to screen her messages and interactions even if she’s using it without my help.

With Kids Email, I was able to customize the security on my daughter’s account, so as she gets older I can loosen the security for her.  Right now, I have hers set to the highest level since she is still really young.

With Kids Email you have many options and features that keep your child safe:

  • Allow child to only receive and send emails from those in their contact list
  • Email a copy of incoming and outgoing messages to the parent
  • Remove images within emails
  • Remove links within emails
  • Only allow specific attachment types such as: images, pictures, video, mp3s, zip, pdf, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Allow a parent to approve or deny any email sent to your children via the mail queue
  • Filter out offensive words found in incoming emails
  • Spam filtering
  • Kids can modify the look and feel of their account by choosing from several fun templates
  • A simple mode for young children as well as an advance mode for slightly older kids
My daughter’s account is set up so that I receive a copy of every email she gets and sends, and if she receives an email from someone not on her approved contact list, she will not see it until I approve it.  Currently, the only people on her list are her Aunts, Uncles, cousins and grandparents.
Of course, once my eldest got her own email address, my middle daughter wanted one too (even though she’s only 3 and can’t read or write yet).  With Kids Email, I am able to have up to 5 children on my account for the same price, as low as $2.99 per month.  When I first heard there was a charge for Kids Email, I wasn’t sure I would be willing to pay for my kids to have an email account, but after my 30 day free trial is up, I am definitely paying to keep their accounts.  I love that my girls are able to safely send and receive emails, and I think $2.99 a month is actually pretty inexpensive for the knowledge that they are able to do so without the fear of receiving inappropriate emails.

This is awesome! I am defiantly gonna keep this in mind for when My kids get a little older! The internet can be so scary when your kids are old enough to start getting on it. It’s so nice to know their are companies out there to help you help keep your kiddos safe! THANK you for sharing!

Thank you for doing all this research for us! I have a son in Kindergarten also and this is perfect! I love the option to have a copy sent to the parent.

I like that it allows the kids to change the themes that fit then and big thing is that it will forward each email that is sent from your child to others directly to you so you can really see what is going on. I have a soon to be 12 year old girl and i may have to just get another email account to keep up with hers if she was to get this. PLH
