I bought the Brother wireless multifunction printer a year and a half ago (August 2011), and I have been THRILLED with it. I love it so much that I bought one for my mom shortly after we got ours. And, a year and a half later, I STILL love this printer. I’ve been through my fair share of printers over the years. I NEVER have issues with this one. It very rarely jams (I can probably count the jams on 1 hand), it’s easy to use, and it takes the off brand ink cartridges which are super cheap, and they last a really long time. When I go to visit my parents, I can print from my computer without changing our adding any additional printer drivers! The best part is, I can print from my phone from it (you have to check to make sure your phone is compatible).
When I was looking to replace our old ink jet printer, I had a few important criteria.
First, I wanted a wireless printer since both my husband and I primarily use our laptops. This way we can both print from anywhere in the house.
Second, I didn’t want to have to spend a fortune on new ink cartridges. I always hated that with other printers it was almost cheaper to replace the printer than it is to replace the ink.
And lastly, I wanted to have the multi-function since I like to scan and copy documents as well as print. I also like having a fax machine in my house 
.
After doing some research I found the Brother Wireless Multifunction Printer and I knew I found our printer.
As a bonus with this color printer, it takes 4 different cartridges instead of just 2. Most ink jet printers have a black cartridge and a color cartridge. This means, if you use a lot of red, your color ink may run out faster even if you haven’t really used much blue or yellow. With the Brother printer, there is a cartridge for Black, Yellow, Cyan (Blue) and Magenta (Red). So if you use a lot of one color, you can just swap out that cartridge, and you get the maximum use out of all of your cartridges. When I first bought my printer, I ordered a box of 12 replacement cartridges (3 of each color) for $7! Yes, you read that price correctly! That original box of cartridges lasted me over a year, and I do A LOT of printing! As with most things on Amazon, the price can change quickly. Currently, you can get a Set Of 20 High Yield Cartridges
for for $13.28! This makes them $.66 each!

I just bought it too, needed ink terrible, so expensive so we go without the print a lot which is a pain and for the cost of 4 inks or less even, whole new printer now and ink to boot which should hopefully last a while. I am so excited. thanks so much.
